Chandrayaan 2

Chandrayaan 2 was launched on 22 July 2019 at 2:43 PM. It is the second attempt of India to take a step on a lunar surface. Before this Chandrayaan 1 was launched in October 2008 as the first ever attempt of India to take a step on the Moon. Its Biggest achievement was that it discovered water on moon surface.
Its launch was originally scheduled on 14 July 2019 but was postponed due to some technical problem that were noticed before the launch just 56 minutes before.

Achievements Of India In Space

1. Chandrayaan 1-


Chandrayaan 1 was launched on October 2008. It was equipped with a high Resolution sensor. It studied the Chemical composition and mineralogical composition of the Moon. 
It was designed to search for Oxygen and Hydrogen atoms which form Hydroxylmolecule.

Main achievement was that it discovered water on the moon.

2. Mission CHANDRAYAAN 2-

Chandrayaan 2 was India's second attempt to study the evolvement of Mars by conducting various studies and surveys including some topographical studies. Chandrayaan 2 was launched on 22 July 2019 from Sriharikota at Satish Dhawan Space Center at 2:43 PM.

3. MOM(Mars Orbiter Mission)-

It is orbiting Mars from September 24, 2014. It was launched in 2013 on 5 November by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). It made India the First Country in Asia to reach Mars Surface. It was the cheapest Mars mission till date as the total cost of this mission was estimated to be 450 Crore INR.

4. INSAT-

INSAT is a geostationary satellite which are used for rescue operations, telecommunications etc. There are total of nine working satellites under this group.

5. ARYABHATTA-

Aryabhatta was launched in 1975 and was India's First satellite which was named after a famous Astronomer named Aryabhatta.
